I11: Inclusion of people with disabilities in the workplace

How can we improve employment and pay of people with disabilities?
How can we adopt an inclusive approach in our workplaces and communities?

Alkisti Kannidou (Initiative Leader)
Alkiti is a qualified lawyer with 25 years of experience in the legal sector. She currently works in Tototheo Maritime as the Legal Manager. Before joining Tototheo Maritime, she was working in E. Papandreou & Co. LLC as a Senior Manager, Head of the International Corporate & shipping Department in Totalserve Management, and a Senior Legal Consultant in Medstar Shipmanagement.
Alkisti holds a B.A in Politics and International Relations, an LLB (Law Degree) and a diploma-certificate( in teaching).
She is a member of WISTA, member of Ship Arrest Association, and also a member of STEP Cyprus.
When not working, she loves travelling around the world and exploring different cultures.
Her current goal is to give back to the community in any way possible through different charities or other fundraising organizations.
Her Motto of life is: “To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment”.

 

Aphrodite Maoudi currently works in Tototheo Maritime as a Marketing Officer and has a demonstrated history in Digital Marketing & Design.
She is a self-taught digital designer with a vast skill set but her main interest lies in interactive design (web and mobile), visual design and UX, UI design. Aphrodite has a thorough understanding of the latest digital marketing technologies including social media, search engine optimization (SEO) and email marketing. As a designer she has learned that the design process is not a straight line, but it is about learning how to be agile, create new rules and find innovative solutions.
Aphrodite holds a degree in International Relations & European Politics from the University of Westminster in London; there she was given the chance to interact and understand different cultures and their policies. Some of her personal interests lie in international affairs focusing in human trafficking and slavery issues.

 

Christina Alexandrou is currently working as a Sales Support Officer at Tototheo Maritime, where she collaborates with the Commercial Team of the company by receiving and coordinating all inquiries related to the supply of hardware.
She is taking the Professional Qualifying Examinations of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers whereas her educational background includes a BA in Accounting and Finance.
Christina strongly believes in the power of positive thinking in the workplace and she likes to be part of a creative community.
Outside of work, she enjoys training and one of her passions is to explore the world.

 

 

 

 

 

Katerina Charitou is an independent expert in human rights law with a focus on anti-discrimination and disability rights (especially further to the ratification of the CRPD by the Republic of Cyprus).
In the course of this initiative, Katerina provided some insights as to the legal foundation of the rights of persons with disabilities and the level of protection that should be afforded to them.
Katerina is a lawyer and have been working on the rights of persons with disabilities since 2012.
She is currently working at Nicoletta Charalambidou LLC.
