Limassol, 26th of June 2021
PRESS RELEASE
Frederick students participate in an interactive Soft Skills seminar for the third year in a row
In summer 2019, Frederick University in cooperation with Maravilhosa, have launched the first Soft Skills seminar for the students of the Department of Maritime Transport and Commerce (DMTC).
Customized and facilitated by Muriel Matta, the interactive Soft Skills seminar’s objective is to inform students about the various workplace and career challenges and equip them with practical skills aimed at developing their communication and teamwork.
For the third year in a row, the seminar was facilitated in June 2021 and subsequent initiatives will follow accordingly.
Muriel Matta is the Founder of Maravilhosa. She is an active HR Advisor, Coach, Trainer and Facilitator.
Frederick University is always striving to assist students, so that the start of their career and work experience is a successful one.
In meeting the demands of the industry and during consultations with the Department of Maritime Transport and Commerce’s Advisory Board, it was decided that the Soft Skills seminar will be offered to the Department students for a third consecutive year.
Soft skills are not generally taught to students and therefore this initiative is an important one in terms of training and development at the early stages of the young generation’s professional path.
The Department of Maritime Transport and Commerce offers undergraduates, postgraduates, and professionals programmes to prepare students to meet the future in maritime and commerce leadership roles. It is committed to produce competent professionals with adaptive skills and character, able to work and succeed in the highly competitive business environment of the global marketplace.
