CHALLENGING YOUR COMFORT ZONE WILL HELP YOU GROW AND BE CONFIDENT
We admire people who are self-assured, who radiate passion, knowledge and positive energy.
We want to be like them, have the confidence to embrace improvement opportunities, and to stay positive in the face of challenges.
And we wonder: how can we do so? Where shall we start?
The truth is many people have built their confidence and resilience through the situations they faced and their life experiences.
If they could, the good news is, you can too.
To start, you need to be ready to go out of your comfort zone.
The comfort zone itself is defined differently by each one of us.
For some, going out of our comfort zone is addressing a situation with someone else, for fear of starting a conflict or disturbing the peace - even if our own peace is already disturbed.
For others, going out of the comfort zone is breaking a habit - or acquiring a new one, or learning a new skill - which is inevitable in today’s business world.
We all have gone out of our comfort zone, at some point in our life. If we decide to find out how many times we did, we would be surprised by the number of experiences that contributed to the better version of ourselves today.
When we think about it, it helps us decide to do it again and be ready for another challenge.
Gradually and consistently breaking out of our comfort zone helps us build more than confidence.
It teaches us patience, until we achieve our goal.
It tests our mental abilities to say ‘no’ to something, or to push further to acquire a skill.
It enables us to learn more about ourselves, our triggers and fears.
It helps us hone determination and commitment, when we are tempted to quit and let go.
It empowers us to build a better version of ourselves, with every experience we face - good or bad - when we draw on the learning lessons.
Going out of your comfort zone is an amazing and gratifying experience.
Progressively and consistently pushing your limits, will enable you to grow, learn and be happy.
Commitment to personal and professional development helps you achieve your goals and boost your confidence.
Encouraging creativity and initiatives in your organisation, enables you to develop high-performing teams and a high-trust workplace.
To start, you need to be ready to go out of your comfort zone and take the decision to move forward.
